Secure Messaging

The Hub lets you communicate directly with patients who have connected via Halo. All messages are end-to-end encrypted—only you and the patient can read them.

  1. Click on a patient card to open their detail view.

  2. Click the message icon (or scroll to the messaging section).

  3. Type your message (up to 2,000 characters).

  4. Click send or press Enter.

You can send different message types: Text for general communication, Care Instruction for post-visit instructions, Lab Result for test results, Prescription for medication details, and Appointment for scheduling. Structured types display more clearly in Halo and are easier for patients to reference.

Click the “Messages” icon in the Hub header to see all patient conversations. Unread messages show a badge count and appear in bold. Within a conversation, scroll up for history and check delivery status (sending → sent → delivered → read).

Click the attachment icon to attach PDFs or images (max 10 MB, up to 3 files per message). Preview before sending.

All messages use AES-256-GCM end-to-end encryption. Messages are encrypted on your device before transmission, and Aether servers cannot access content.

Do: Keep messages concise, use structured types when appropriate, respond within 24-48 hours, explain medical terminology.

Don’t: Share info meant for other patients, include billing details, use unclear abbreviations, send urgent advice via message.
