Explore & Navigate

Cleo can automatically map your EHR system and help you navigate quickly to any section. This is especially useful when working with unfamiliar EHR interfaces or when you need to jump between sections frequently.

Cleo offers two related features:

  • Explore — Automatically discovers and maps all sections of your EHR
  • Navigate — Quickly jump to any discovered section

The Explore feature systematically navigates through your EHR to discover all available screens and how they connect.

  1. Log into your EHR and navigate to any page.

  2. Look for the Action Island floating at the top of your screen.

  3. Click the menu icon to open the actions dropdown.

  4. Select Explore to begin mapping.

  5. Wait approximately 2 minutes while Cleo explores the system.

While exploring, Cleo:

  • Opens multiple tabs in your browser window (you’ll see them appear)
  • Navigates through menus, buttons, and links automatically
  • Identifies what each screen is (schedule, inbox, medications, etc.)
  • Records how to get from one screen to another
  • Closes the tabs when finished

During exploration, you’ll see a progress tracker showing:

  • Number of screens discovered
  • Number of navigation paths found
  • Overall progress percentage

After exploration completes:

  1. Click View Map in the progress tracker (or from the Action Island menu).

  2. Review the navigation map showing all discovered screens.

  3. See which page types were found and how they connect.

The map displays:

  • Total screens visited
  • Navigation paths discovered
  • Page types found (shown as visual tags)
  • A list of all discovered destinations

Once you’ve explored your EHR, use Navigate to instantly jump to any section.

  1. Click the menu icon in the Action Island.

  2. Select Navigate to open the navigation prompt.

  3. Type what you’re looking for (e.g., “schedule”, “medications”, “labs”).

  4. Select from the suggested destinations or press Enter.

  5. Cleo navigates you directly to that section.

The Navigate prompt shows up to 6 suggested destinations based on what was discovered during Explore. Common destinations include:

DestinationDescription
ScheduleYour calendar and appointments
InboxMessages and tasks
Patient ChartFull patient record
MedicationsMedication list for a patient
LabsLab results and orders
Vital SignsPatient vitals and measurements

Some destinations require a patient to be selected:

  • No patient needed: Schedule, Inbox, Patient List
  • Patient required: Medications, Labs, Vitals, Chart sections

Cleo automatically detects what page you’re currently on. This helps with:

  • Showing relevant actions in the Action Island
  • Understanding context for Patient Briefs
  • Knowing when you’re on a patient chart vs. a list

Detected page types include:

  • Patient chart (viewing one patient)
  • Patient list (search results, panels)
  • Schedule (calendar, appointments)
  • Inbox (messages, tasks)
  • Order entry (placing orders)
  • Results review (lab results)
  • Medication list
  • Documentation (notes)

The Action Island is the floating interface at the top of your EHR screen. It provides:

  • Current context — Shows the patient you’re viewing (if any)
  • Quick actions — Contextual action buttons
  • Menu access — Explore, Navigate, View Brief, and more
  • Progress trackers — Status of running operations
  • Make sure you’re logged into your EHR
  • Some pages may require specific permissions
  • Try starting Explore from the EHR’s home page
