Cleo Extension Overview
Cleo is a Chrome browser extension that automatically captures patient data from your EHR and syncs it to the Aether Hub.
What Cleo Does
Section titled “What Cleo Does”When you open a patient chart in your EHR, Cleo automatically:
- Captures patient demographics, medications, labs, and more
- Identifies care gaps and calculates clinical scores
- Syncs everything to the Aether Hub in real-time
This happens seamlessly in the background without interrupting your workflow.

Data Captured

The Side Panel
Section titled “The Side Panel”The side panel is home to the Cleo AI assistant. Open it by clicking the Cleo icon in your browser toolbar.
- Ask about patients — “What medications is John Doe on?”, “What are their care gaps?”, “Show me recent labs”
- Clinical queries — “Check for drug interactions”, “Calculate eGFR”, “Summarize this patient”
- Prior authorization — “Does Ozempic require prior auth?”, “What are the PA requirements for this medication?”
- Quick actions — Common tasks available as one-click pills
- Settings & history — Configure EHR systems and review past conversations
You don’t need to keep the side panel open while working. The Action Island floats on your EHR pages and provides quick access to patient context, briefs, and common actions without opening the panel.
Privacy & Security
Section titled “Privacy & Security”Cleo is designed with healthcare privacy requirements in mind.
Encryption: All patient data is encrypted using AES-256-GCM before leaving your browser. Data remains encrypted in transit and at rest. Only you and authorized recipients can decrypt and view patient information.
No credential storage: Cleo never stores, transmits, or has access to your EHR login credentials. You authenticate directly with your EHR—Cleo only reads data from pages you’re already logged into.
User-initiated capture: Cleo only captures data from patient charts you actively view. It does not run in the background or access pages you haven’t opened.
Audit logging: All data access is logged for HIPAA compliance. Your organization can review who accessed what data and when.
Local processing: Clinical calculations (eGFR, BMI, care gaps) are performed locally in your browser before any data is transmitted.
